The Pain Of Fear

Updated: Oct 14, 2024

Fear seeks to destroy us and it steals our joy.

I have been facing tremendous fear recently. When I find myself in the midst of fear, I also find myself asking, “Why would I fear when I trust in the God of the universe who controls all things?”

To put it simply, sin is the reason why I fear. I fear because I sometimes struggle to trust God, which results in becoming stagnant in my faith. Hebrews 12:11 says, "No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it."

I struggle to stay disciplined in my faith because it can be painful…life can be so painful and I fear pain.

Do you ever find yourself asking, "Does the pain ever go away?” Well, I have some good and bad news for you. The bad news is that there is and always will be pain in our fallen world, but the good news is that God gives us strength to endure painful things! It’s one of his promises to us.

I truly believe that sometimes miracles take place and God just rescues us from our pain. But the key is to hold onto this – God gives us strength to endure whatever comes our way. There is no need to fear!

So today I want to encourage you to continue asking God to give you His strength to help you endure your fear of pain and in time, heal from it too.
